WOW, we can hardly believe that September is over and we have been in Kindergarten for a month! We have transitioned into kindergarten and are settling into our new routines. Here is some of our learning highlights thus far:
- Early Literacy- writing our names, letters: a-f, daily message, shared stories, writing centre, labelling our pictures by sounding first letter, dramtic play and puppetry, adding details and colours to pictures to tell a story
- Early Numeracy- shape hunt, comparing shapes, sorting introduction, spatial awareness and mazes
- Citizenship & Identity- Self Portraits, Names, Class Agreements/Rules, Orange Shirt Day
- Environment and Community Awareness-Whole Body Listening, Nature Table, Fresh Air Thursday, Exploring Fall and Leaves
- Personal and Social Responsibility- Caring for self and others
- Physical Skills and Well-being- Red Light/Green Light, Controlling our bodiesand moving in different ways, Yoga, Rolling and tossing balls
- Creative Expression- Dot Day:Collaborative painting, lines and dots, using rulers, still life drawing/painting of guords and pumpkins, cutting lines
